PGN APP

The pgnApp enables fast digitization and management of chess games.

Paper forms for individual games or entire tournaments can be easily recorded and saved for further use. The recording is technically supported by AI and can also be used internationally.

A website with an online store and the actual app were developed. Various technologies were used to ensure smooth functionality. The implementation is based on WordPress using modern technologies such as MariaDB, React and Tailwind.

Special features

After purchasing the service in the integrated online store and registering, users are given access to the application. The paper form is converted into a pgn file using a React app integrated into the frontend. The uploaded images are then sent to an external API interface, which uses artificial intelligence to read the image content and transmit it to the application. The application can thus recognize errors on the chess forms and make suggestions for improvement. The interaction option is highly dynamic and offers the possibility of editing each move and calculating the subsequent moves.

The uploads and game data are stored as WebP and JSON formats on a server so that they can be used for AI evaluation.

Design & concept

The design for the multilingual website aims to provide users with a quick overview of the app functions. A user-friendly design is particularly important to ensure simple and intuitive operation.

The pgnApp stands out from conventional chess apps and websites thanks to its clear, fresh and modern design. As part of the design concept, a new logo was created and appealing design elements, brand colors and fonts were selected to form the basis for the visual identity of the website and app.

The app's operating concept was developed with step-by-step editing in mind, which is particularly advantageous on small screens. This allows users to keep an overview at all times and easily achieve the app's main goal: an optimized way of working without much effort.

Website & App

Users can manage their games via a dashboard. In addition, a sharing function enables collaboration with other users, which makes work easier, especially for clubs and tournaments.

The integrated online store offers the service in different package sizes, making the offer attractive for both individual users and tournaments.
